📝 Founder Update: A story of hope from our Uganda trip

As the Director of Followings Foundation, I wanted to take a moment to update you on our recent trip to rural Uganda. This was our first visit in almost four years, and it was a powerful reminder of the importance of our work and the importance of working and planning together face to face.

During our trip, we had the opportunity to reconnect with our partners on the ground and witness the incredible impact your donations are having on the communities we serve.

We met with families in some of the most remote areas of Uganda and saw firsthand the challenges they face, including limited access to clean water, healthcare, and education. But we also saw hope in their eyes and heard the determination in their voices to create a better future for themselves and their children.

That's where you come in. The school uniform tailoring contract that Busubi Empowered Communities (BEC) took on over the holidays is almost complete, which means re-opening the Centre is imminent!

Put simply, for a successful reopening, we need to raise $500 in the next 4 days and $6,000 over the next 3 months to continue our work in Uganda.

Your next donation, no matter how small, will continue to make a real difference in the lives of Ugandan families.

At the end of 2022, we celebrated the 5th birthday of our partnership with Busubi Empowered Communities. My most heartfelt thanks goes to Ross and Mel (both Followings volunteers since the beginning in 2017) for joining me in Uganda as we reconnected with our partners at BEC.

When you click the link below, you'll be donating as a celebration of what we can all achieve together!

At Followings Foundation, we operate in transparency and authenticity. That's why we want you to know that 100% of your donation goes directly to our programs on the ground. Outside of our website and accounting fees, we have no overhead costs or paid staff, so you can be confident that your donation is making a direct impact on the communities we serve.

We know that there are many organisations you could choose to support, and we are grateful that you have chosen to partner with us in our mission to empower rural communities in Africa. We promise to keep you updated on our progress in Uganda and beyond, and we welcome your questions or feedback at any time.

Thank you for your continued support,
